Portsmouth City Council tracks down man who misused Blue Badge

A motorist caught misusing a Blue Badge, which gives disabled people certain parking rights, pleaded for leniency claiming that he was helping the wheelchair user when he appeared in court.

Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court was told Robert Correa twice used the disabled man’s Blue Badge and also ‘deliberately’ obscured the 2014 expiry date.

Correa’s car was also issued a penalty charge notice for parking in Cranbury Place, Southampton, on 23 July for the badge expiry...
