Over 200 sites now hold Disabled Parking Accreditation

The Belfry Shopping Centre in Redhill, Surrey, is among the car park owners to have received the Disabled Parking Accreditation (DPA), an award set up by Disabled Motoring UK.

Andy Nash, centre manager, said: “As a shopping centre which actively works to provide easy-to-use disabled parking facilities so that everyone can enjoy their visit, we are also delighted to receive the award from Disabled Motoring UK.

The DPA scheme is administered by the British Parking Association, which also runs the Safer Parking Scheme. In conjunction with receiving its DPA The Belfry also had its Safer Parking Scheme Park Mark renewed. Over 200 car parks now hold a Disabled Parking Accreditation (DPA) under a scheme launched by Disabled Motoring UK (DMUK). The charity says that take-up of the accreditation has gathered momentum since the British Parking Association (BPA) started administering the scheme in April.
