York to re-tender P&R contract after bus operators say figures don't work

No bus operating company has accepted the tender from City of York Council to manage one of the UK’s most successful park & ride schemes. The tender was issued in June, but its failure will mean a new tender will be drawn up.

First York, which had operated the service from the Fulford park & ride for more than 20 years, said it had decided not to re-bid for the service on the current tender because it could not be operated on a commercially sustainable basis.
