A car park is set to be transformed into an underground art gallery in Croydon, south London. The 2,000m2 gallery is a key part the £750m Fairfield Halls and College Green regeneration, which will see the area transformed into an arts and education quarter. The Fairfield Halls, whose design was influenced by the Royal Festival Hall on the South Bank, have been the Croydon’s cultural centre since they opened in 1963.
