Sir Winston Churchill will appear on the new Bank of England £5 note, which enters circulation on 13 September.

The new fivers will be the first Bank of England notes made of polymer rather than cotton paper.

The Bank says polymer banknotes will be cleaner, more durable and harder to counterfeit than the current paper notes. It is expected they will last for five years.
