Safety barrier manufacturer A-SAFE was presented with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise by The Duke of Gloucester during a visit to its factory in Halifax, West Yorkshire.
The duke presented the award to A-SAFE directors in recognition of the company’s achievements in international trade. A-SAFE has eight international subsidiaries and re-sellers in over 60 countries. The company achieved international turnover of £6.4m in 2014.
A-SAFE supplies a range of flexible, polymer-based safety barriers to car parks and industrial workplaces such as automotive manufacturing, construction sites, food and drink facilities, warehouses and airports.
Director James Smith said: “The company has come a long way in ten years, built on our foundation stones of innovation, manufacturing and the highest possible quality of products and service. We are proud to be a local company with a global reach and we are looking forward to continuing our growth and making the workplaces of the world even safer, more cost-efficient places over the next decade.”
During a factory tour the duke saw the company’s research and development department, manufacturing processes and on-site extrusion, moulding and testing machinery.
