Angel Dutton and `Star the Safety Car`

Rochdale Borough Council has let local school pupils name the ANPR-equipped ‘safety car’ which it uses to enforce parking restrictions around schools.

The council has deployed a camera car since April 2014 to tackle inconsiderate, dangerous and often illegal parking outside schools. The council says badly parked cars can block sight lines that prevent children being able to see, or be seen clearly by on-coming traffic.
