DfT explores adding capacity to busiest parts of road network

Major capacity enhancements to two of the most congested parts of England’s strategic road network (SRN) are to be explored in a new wave of road studies.

The DfT is to look again for a “lasting solution” to congestion on the south-west quadrant of the M25 – the busiest stretch of the SRN – which includes the junctions serving the M3, M4 and Heathrow Airport.
