An agreement has finally been reached on proposals to rebuild part of the troubled Castlepoint shopping centre in Bournemouth, including its car park, after nearly a decade of on-off negotiations. 

The shopping centre opened in 2003 but its two-level underground 3,000-space car park developed structural problems which emerged as the concrete floor and support columns developed cracks. Temporary props were installed to help support the structure (PR January 2006).
