A ‘Portas Pilot’ town has removed road signs promoting its free parking scheme because they do not meet legal requirements.
Market Rasen in Lincolnshire is one of 12 towns around the country to share £1.2m of government funding as part of the Portas Pilot project, which aimed to rejuvenate high streets.
The town erected roadside signs promoting a free parking initiative, but Lincolnshire County Council has ruled the signs did not comply with national requirements.
