The London Borough of Newham is to bring responsive repair works on the highway network in-house for a trial two-year period from October. The borough says the work typically amounts to about 4,300 repairs to the carriageway and 4,500 repairs to footways each year, with a value of £1.2m. Newham is currently reviewing how to reprocure its separate road construction contract, which includes assessing the merits of using the London Highways Alliance Contract (LoHAC) framework....
