APCOA Parking has equipped traffic wardens in Ireland with body cameras. The Edesix VideoBadges have been issued to wardens working in Celbridge in County Kildare.
The trial will investigate if the body cameras will help curb the number of verbal and physical assaults on wardens. There are around five assaults on APCOA wardens each week in Ireland.
The introduction of the VideoBadge technology has received the support of the local authority and the Gardai (Ireland’s police force).
