The Government has approved Norfolk County Council’s application for its proposed Norwich Northern Distributor Road to be treated as a nationally significant infrastructure project.
The decision allows the council to submit the road to the Planning Inspectorate for development consent.
The scheme was accepted just days before the Government passed regulations that exclude all local authority road schemes from being treated as nationally significant projects.
