Communities and local government secretary Eric Pickles has told local authorities in England to “ditch their anti-car dogma” and make town centres more friendly to motorists.
Pickles made the comments as he launched the Department for Communities and Local Government’s new web-based national planning practice guidance for England, which supports the National Planning Policy Framework that was published last March.
