Notts pioneers ‘pocket’ P&R sites

Nottinghamshire County Council is trialling what is believed to be the first ‘pocket’ park & ride site in the UK in a bid to cut congestion and carbon emissions.

The car park at Cotgrave Welfare Club, Rushcliffe, provides 33 free parking spaces between 7am and 7pm with bus services to Nottingham and West Bridgford.

The council spent £17,000 on improvements to the car park, including the installation of CCTV, with adjacent bus stops and signage. It will pay the club...
