A new shared space street has been opened in the Suffolk port town of Felixstowe.

A level grey block paved surface has been laid right across a 220-metre section of the town’s main shopping street (Hamilton Road). Darker grey blocks indicate the zones for disabled parking and loading.

A two-metre wide area adjacent to the shop fronts has been kept clear of street furniture to assist the blind and partially sighted. Rod Sore, Suffolk’s road safety manager, told LTT that the...
