East Midlands Parkway to offer more spaces

Parking capacity at the new East Midlands Parkway rail station will be 850 spaces, up from the 500 spaces initially proposed.

The new station, due to open in December, is situated off the A453 at Ratcliffe-on-Soar, one mile from the M1.

Network Rail primarily funds the £25.5m project, with a funding contribution of almost £1m from the East Midlands Development Agency. East Midlands Trains also contributed towards the additional 350 car parking spaces at the station.
