Coming soon - a new magazine for a changing sector in challenging times

15 May 2009

Next month sees the launch of a ground-breaking new monthly magazine. To meet the changing needs of the passenger transport sector and map out the future of its vital role in a changing society, New Transit will showcase the best and map out the future for the passenger transport sector.

It will also set directions for important challenges and opportunities, and show who is already leading the way. An enhanced regular news update service and commentary will meanwhile be delivered to Transit subscribers via our TransportXtra.com website.

“Our vision has been to create a magazine which is truly appropriate for this dynamic and vital sector at this time of change and uncertainty, and complement the other
information products now available” explained Transit managing editor Robert Jack.

“New Transit, published monthly, will reflect the pride that passenger transport professionals have for the sector and help to reframe the perceptions of those outside of it.

“We believe that the passenger transport sector must remain confident, and be seen to be confident. We are committed to creating a publication that conveys this confidence and proudly presents the industry at its very best.”

Transit was first launched in 1995 to cater for the fledgling privatised bus and rail industries. Over the past decade and a half these industries have become increasingly mature and the relaunched Transit keeps apace with this evolution while looking towards the emergence of an enhanced role for the passenger transport sector in tomorrow’s economy.

Embracing print, online and its conferences and events, the Transit portfolio will continue to be the sector’s indispensable source of independent, authoritative and trusted dialogue and information.

The first edition of New Transit will be published in mid-June.
