Oxfordshire 15-year plan to transform rail includes rapid transit corridor idea

Oxfordshire County Council has drawn up OxRail 2040 - a three-phase plan to improve rail transport over the next 15 years. As well as existing rail system enhancements, the council will look at the case for rapid transit on the Carterton-Witney-Oxford corridor. 

Another central ambition is Oxfordshire Metro, the plan to improve and increase journeys by bus, train and other modes by co-ordinating timetables, simplifying tickets and using apps for payments and journey information.
