Churchill Insurance finds local authorites are applying emissions-based charges to fossil-fuelled vehicles

The average cost of a residents’ parking permit has reached £128 a year, a survey shows. However, motorists living in one part of London are paying over eight times the national average, an investigation by Churchill Car Insurance has found.

The London Borough of Islington has the most expensive residents parking permit, with it costing up to £1,073 a year for an older diesel car.
