The Government has appointed a director from a non-transport civil service background to oversee the transition of train operators to public control. Richard Goodman has been made Director General of DfT Operator Ltd (DFTO), formerly DfT OLR Holdings Limited, which runs franchises in England that have failed or are being returned to state operation as their contracts expire.
