Wirral van firm’s promenade parking prompts a ban

Overnight promenade parking ban on a waterfront in Wirral is being banned after a van hire firm started leaving dozens of its vehicles there.

West Wallasey Car and Van Hire has apologised for parking up to 100 vehicles in New Brighton and Wallasey.

Residents said the company had caused a blight on the town and left them struggling to park.

Wirral Council said the ban will come into force in April.
