New ZEBRA funding will provide over 950 zero-emission buses, says DfT

The latest round of ZEBRA funding will support vehicles rural routes

 

A total of 25 councils will receive funding to decarbonise their bus fleets, with rural areas prioritised, says the Department for Transport.

Transport secretary Mark Harper has confirmed that £143m will be made to finance 955 zero-emission buses.

The funding comes from the second round of the Zero Emission Bus Regional Areas (ZEBRA) programme, which will see new electric buses in towns, villages and cities across England.
