Return Tickets disappear from LNER in ‘better value fares’ plan

LNER has become the first train operator to bring in single-only ticketing across its network, in an approach favoured for more general adoption by Transport Secretary Mark Harper.

From Sunday 11 June, return fares were abolished on the state- run operator with all fares priced on a single journey basis.

Ticket types available are Anytime Single; Off-Peak/Super Off-Peak Single; and Advance Single.
