The Broadway car park in Maidenhead has been closed after concrete started falling from its ceiling. The 734-space multi-storey was shut on safety grounds on New Year’s Eve. Investigations showed moisture in cracks in the concrete had caused masonry to break off and fall, said the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.
The car park is over 40 years old and is due for demolition as part of the redevelopment of the Nicholsons shopping centre.
