Lower fares boost GM Bus patronage to highest since pandemic

Bus use in Manchester has risen 7% year on year as passengers have been benefitting from new lower fares since September, when they were brought in a year ahead of schedule to help with the cost-of-living crisis says TfGM.

With an estimated 3.5 million bus journeys each week during November, the number of people using commercial bus services in that month was 7.5% higher than November 2021 and is now at its highest level since the pandemic.
