An Essex bus operator is restricting contactless payments after discovering a scam, which it says has resulted in losses of £10,000 over the past three months. 

Ensignbus said: “Because of a significant rise in debit and credit card fraud, we regret that we are forced to change how all types of contactless payments are used on our network.”

It has reduced the contactless card limit to £10, including on Apple Pay and Google Pay.
