Royal Mail has set out its ambition to scale up its use of drone technology and create more than 50 new postal drone routes over the next three years.
The mail carrier has entered into a partnership with Windracers, the logistics drone company, that will facilitate and operate UAVs (uncrewed aerial vehicles) to provide faster services for customers in remote communities. Royal Mail currently use ferries, conventional aircraft and land-based delivery which can be affected by bad weather.
