Driverless trial underway in MK

A large-scale remotely-controlled car trial on public roads has started this month in Milton Keynes. It is the first significant project to offer ‘driverless’ travel on public roads, although the vehicles will be controlled remotely by an operator rather than driving themselves.

The Fetch car system, developed by Imperium Drive Limited, began preliminary trials of the system last year on private land and car parks around Stadium MK, home of the football club MK Dons.
