Scottish bus operators will be reimbursed at a significantly higher per-passenger rate than usual when free travel is extended to young people at the end of this month. The offer is expected to generate less additional travel than the existing free concessionary scheme does, in normal circumstances.
Transport minister Graeme Dey said this week that the restrictions put in place to reduce the spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 would not result in the launch being postponed.
