Transport hit again by ‘work from home’

Public transport operators have suffered a further blow from Government advice to work from home to curb the spread of the new Covid-19 variant Omicron. 

It means that revenues are again being hit, creating new problems for both the operators and the transport authorities to provide support for their services.

In the capital, figures released by Transport for London (TfL) showed that on 13 December Tube ridership was 12% down compared with the previous Monday, and bus use was down 2%.
