A resurgence for Local Transport Plans based on new government guidance was signalled by Stephen Fidler, DfT’s co-director local transport when he spoke at the Local Transport Summit in Brentford last month.
Fidler admitted that the last serious attention to LTPs was over a decade ago although 60% of local authorities had continued to prepare on a non-statutory basis.
