Harris becomes chief executive of new look government owned company

Highways England, the government company that builds and operates the country’s motorways and major A-roads, has been rebranded as National Highways.

The name change reflects a new focus on delivering the government’s £27bn strategic roads investment programme.

Nick Harris has been confirmed as the chief executive of the new look company. Harris joined Highways England in 2016 and has been acting chief executive since February 2021.
