A fixed 50mph speed limit is to be introduced on a 15-mile stretch of the M4 in Gwent, Wales, this summer. A total of 32 average cameras will enforce the 50mph limit, which will replace a variable speed limit. The Welsh Government says the lower speed limit should ease congestion, improve journey times, smooth traffic flows, reduce accidents, and improve air quality.
