TfL’s forecast deficit reduced by £420m

The size of Transport for London’s projected deficit in 2020/21 has reduced by about £420m due to higher passenger income and lower operating costs.  

The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic meant TfL’s passenger income in the year to the end of period 11 2020/21 (6 February) was £1.373bn, compared with £4.127bn in the corresponding period of 2019/20.

Operating costs were £4.719bn, down from £4.840bn in the corresponding period of 2019/20.
