North Somerset Council has published a scoring method that will allow developers to cut the amount of car parking they provide in new developments.
The ‘parking discount assessment’ method can be applied to residential and non-residential development. It uses criteria such as walking distance to the nearest bus stop; frequency of bus services; and walking/cycle distance to facilities such as railway stations, schools, and shopping facilities.
