Get tougher on drug driving, says PACTS

The government should strengthen policy and enforcement against drug driving, says the Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety.  

PACTS says enforcement of the drug driving laws varies dramatically between police forces across the country. 

In 2019 12,391 people were convicted of a drug driving offence. Nearly half (44 per cent) were committed by a reoffender.
