Welsh Government takes over Wales and Borders rail services

The Welsh Government has taken Wales and Borders rail services into public ownership.  As of 7 February, Transport for Wales is operating the services under a subsidiary, Transport for Wales Rail Ltd. 

The Welsh Government had awarded Keolis and Amey a 15-year contract for Wales and Borders services, which commenced in October 2018.
