Essex County Council is seeking £14m of savings on the cost of a new railway station near Chelmsford.
The three-platform Beaulieu Park station on the Great Eastern Main Line northeast of Chelmsford has a budget of £157m. The estimated cost following Network Rail’s GRIP 3 (option selection stage) is £171m (including £22m contingency).
