Dave Holladay’s response to my letter of 21 August regarding the carriage of bikes on buses is very informative and constructive (Letters LTT 18 Sep). 

I certainly would agree with him on one point – the carriage of bikes on buses should be tried on ‘cross-estuary’ routes such as the Dartford Crossing. But his suggestion that they be carried on urban bus routes such as Transport for London’s number 108 through the Blackwall Tunnel is a completely different...
