Transport for the North has asked the Government to accelerate investments in the region as part of a post-Covid-19 economic recovery plan.
The sub-national transport body has written to transport secretary Grant Shapps identifying projects that could be accelerated. It has promised to submit a “comprehensive” list of schemes after the TfN board meets on 29 July.
