Nexus has chosen Swiss firm Stadler to supply a new fleet of trains for the Tyne and Wear Metro. Stadler will supply 42 trains and build and run a new maintenance depot at South Gosforth. The DfT is providing £337m towards the £362m cost of the programme. Stadler is already supplying trains for the Glasgow Subway and the Merseyrail network in the Liverpool City Regon....
