The cost of a new single platform rail station at Portway on the Bristol Temple Meads-Severn Beach branch has risen more than 50 per cent following Network Rail’s completion of the GRIP 4 stage of the project. Bristol City Council says the cost, including development work already undertaken, is now £3.4m-£3.6m, up from the previous estimate of £2.2m.
