Greens: No more new roads, no to HS2, and a 40mph speed limit

The Greens would scrap HS2 and all road capacity projects, investing in upgrading existing railways instead, if the party formed the next Government. The Greens’ General Election manifesto also pledges to cut the default speed limit on single carriageway roads outside urban areas from 60mph to just 40mph.
