Nexus is alerting the train building market to the impending procurement of a new fleet of trains for the Tyne and Wear Metro, the first of which should be delivered in December 2021.
The Government announced last November a £337m capital grant towards the £362m cost of a replacement Metro fleet and a new maintenance facility. Nexus will provide the remaining £25m.
