I have a few quick thoughts on some recent articles in LTT.
Iain Reeve’s Viewpoint piece about driverless cars struck a chord with me (‘Will self-driving cars really be a cure-all for transport problems? Don’t be silly’ LTT 18 Aug). I’ve felt for some time that the balance is swinging too far back towards techno-fixes and away from behaviour change. As he says, this usually results in behaviour compensation, so we end up no better off.
