The Go-Ahead Group is targeting international bus and rail markets to make up for its loss of the London Midland rail franchise, which was a large chunk of its UK rail business.

Go-Ahead wants international operations to contribute 15% to 20% of group profits within five years. Its first overseas operation – bus contracts in Singapore – commenced last September and the group has won three rail contracts in Germany and a bus contract in Dublin.
