CMA probes Arriva’s rail & bus in the North

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is investigating the implications of Arriva taking over the Northern Rail franchise for the area’s public transport market.

In April, Arriva Rail North Ltd, a subsidiary of Arriva, which is itself a subsidiary of German state rail operator DB, took over the Northern Rail franchise from Serco/Abellio.
