A relief road for Hereford is a key component of Herefordshire Council’s new local transport plan.
The north-south A49 trunk road passes through the middle of the city and the council has long sought a bypass to remove through traffic.
“With the relief road in place there will be greater opportunity to improve the A49 through the city and change its use away from freight and other long-distance traffic to more local transport needs,” says the new LTP.
