Driverless trains for Glasgow subway

Strathclyde Partnership for Transport has awarded a contract for the supply of a new fleet of driverless trains to operate on the 4ft gauge Glasgow Subway. The £200m contract for the supply of  trains, signalling and other equipment has been made to a consortium of Stadler Bussnang AG and Ansaldo STS. To improve safety, half-height screen doors will be installed on platforms. The trains should be introduced in 2020.  ...
